Located on the campus of and run by Eastern Mennonite University, the Hostetter Museum of Natural History brings a vast amount of information about the world into one cozy museum. Aquariums and herbariums holding live critters are on display, including many animals native to the bay area. Other artifact and fossil collections include animal skeletons, ancient dinosaur fossils, brilliantly colored rocks and anthropological artifacts. With displays and hands-on activities designed especially for kids, this museum is popular with school groups but can be visited by families as well. It is situated in the same building as the university's old planetarium, on the south side of campus.
Open during school season, Sun. 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. and by appointment.
Adults $3; Children (3-12) $5; Children 2 and under are free.
